The NFL has one of the most competitive postseasons in all of sports. Its one-and-done format is different than that of the major sports in the country and sets up the possibility for true underdog stories to emerge.

Aaron Rodgers' NFL future has become an annual point of speculation. This year, the speculation is starting earlier than usual. The Packers were eliminated from playoff contention with a 20-16 loss to the Lions at Lambeau Field on Sunday night.

In a 17-game season, it’s a near certainty that teams are going to have the same records. That’s just the way things fall in the NFL. Whether it’s within the division or in the conference wild cards, the NFL has to have a means to break ties without playing an extra game.

It’s been a sub-par season for the Packers, but at least one thing remained constant in 2022: Aaron Rodgers still owns the Bears. And he won’t let the Bears (or its fans) forget it.

Tom Brady has not had the greatest of autumns, personally or professionally, to put it mildly. His in-season divorce from Gisele Bundchen and the sudden collapse of cryptocurrency exchange FTX have intersected with a mediocre start to his 23rd NFL campaign.
