To go along with a busy weekend in the combat sports world, Manny Pacquiao returned to the ring for the first time since August 2021, securing the unanimous decision victory over DK Yoo in an exhibition bout.
Held at the Korea International Exhibition Center, the 43-year-old proved far too strong for the social media personality and mixed martial artist.
Pacquiao was on a three-fight win streak before he was scheduled to face Errol Spence Jr. An eye injury forced Spence out of the bout. Pacquiao then fought Yordenis Ugas for the WBA (Super) welterweight title in August 2021.
After losing via unanimous decision, Pacquiao retired from professional competition not long after and the fight with Yoo could potentially open the door for a return.
Pacquiao landed plenty of big shots in the six-round bout and dropped Yoo on multiple occasions, but the eight-division world champion was unable to finish him off.

Round 6: Here we go with the final round. Pacquiao drops Yoo with a massive left hand but the fight continues. A straight right hand from Pacquiao connects, before dropping Yoo again with another big left. An extremely one-sided bout comes to an end, but Yoo did well to survive the six rounds.
Round 5: Yoo begins to dance around the ring but Pacquiao continues to pepper him with big shots. The referee stops the fight for a shot to the back of the head by Pacquiao. Yoo scores with a counter shot and continues to survive despite Pacquiao’s best efforts.
Round 4: Pacquiao goes up high with a right hook. Yoo connects with his best punch of the fight, delivering a left hook. Yoo goes down but the referee rules it as a slip. Pacquiao drops Yoo with a brutal combo in the final seconds of the round and the referee almost stopped it, but Yoo wants to continue.
Round 3: Yoo scores with a right hand, but it’s Pacquiao that is chasing and throwing more punches. Pacquiao backs Yoo up into the corner and lands a few good shots, before a couple of glancing left hands to finish the round. Pacquiao is clearly in control and could end it at any stage.
Round 2: Pacquiao connects with a nice combination. Yoo evades a wild hook late in the round.
Round 1: Slow start from both fighters. Yoo lands a nice shot that gets a reaction from the crowd. Pacquiao attacks the body to finish the opening round.
The main attraction is up next, with the legendary Pacquiao coming back for his first fight in well over a year after retiring from professional competition.
Nico Hernandez def. Jae-Young Kim via unanimous decision
A one-sided affair for Hernandez, who dominated his opponent throughout the entire eight rounds, earning a unanimous decision victory. Kim proved a tough task to put down and did well to survive the consistent onslaught.
Min-Wook Kim def. Marcus Davidson via TKO
A brutal left hook to the body ends it in the fifth round for Kim. Perfect placement from the veteran and the referee stops the bout.
Abel Mendoza-Min-Guk Ju ends in a draw
Confusion over the length of the fight, which was promoted as four rounds. It ends after an announcement from ringside. The judges can’t split the two fighters and it ends as a draw. Bizarre stuff, with most believing Mendoza was the victor. Two poor decisions in a row from the judges.
Seung-Ho Yang-Sean Garcia ends in a draw
Massive robbery in this fight. After a two-year break, the younger brother of Ryan Garcia returned in style with a quality performance in an entertaining four-round bout, but the majority decision surprisingly went in Yang’s favour. Later in the night, the commentators confirmed the decision had been changed to a draw.
Maurice Lee def. Shin-Yong Kim via unanimous decision
Lee emerges victorious in a fairly one-sided fight, landing countless big shots throughout the six rounds. Kim showed his toughness but was unable to cause any damage to his opponent.
Marcell Davidson def. Yoon-Bin Han via TKO
Davidson dominated the bout and landed plenty of big shots throughout. After multiple knockdowns, the referee waved it off late in the third round to keep Davidson’s undefeated record in tact.
